you were to ask Dan Biller about inspiration in life, he would talk about his father. A mason, Dan's father would have his sons go to work with him. There, as they would stack bricks and mix concrete, strong foundations were being built. He learned from his dad how important it was to work hard, and the satisfaction that comes with seeing the fruits of your labor. If you can imagine being a 4' 3" boy and looking up at a sixty-foot tall building that you helped build, you can imagine the impact his father had on Dan.
Although Dan's career decisions were different from his father's, the foundation was still there. After earning his degree in accounting, Dan started His career working for a Fortune 500 company as an accountant. It wasn't until his mid-thirties that his life took a unique turn. As the business manager for a local new-home construction company, Dan decided one day to take a break from his routine and lend a hand at a work site. He started out just lending a hand, but as he saw things come together, it had an interesting effect.

Little did Dan know at the time what an impact the decision to visit the construction site would have on his life. Soon, helping the construction crews became part of his daily routine. As the company grew, so did the number of homes he was asked to help build. "My outlook really started to change when I would ride through the neighborhoods where we built homes," Dan recalls. "I watched how wooden frames and nails were transformed into places where children played and people spent their holidays."

The inspiration happened at quite a unique time in Dan's life, when his young children were changing his perspectives about the world. "It was like I was really making a difference in someone's life," recalls Dan. "I had learned that few things in life made more of a difference than the place a family called home." At 39, after spending nearly 15 years as an accountant, he decided to make a change.

After much soul searching and long conversations with his wife, Dan decided to pursue a career in real estate, where he could combine his financial skills with his construction knowledge, working hands-on helping families with one of their biggest foundational decisions. To Dan, Building Strong Foundations for families is the most important thing.
